This Privacy Policy explains what information the Stacks mobile game ("Stacks", the "App", "we", "us") collects, why, and the choices you have. Stacks is a free, ad-supported hyper-casual stacking game published by Laughing Muffin (Alex) on Google Play. This policy applies only to the Stacks App and not to any other product or website.

The short version

1. Information we collect

Stacks itself does not ask you to create an account or provide any personal details. However, the third-party Google SDKs built into the App collect certain information automatically when you play. We do not see this data tied to your real-world identity.

SourceData collectedPurpose
Google AdMob (ads) Advertising ID (AAID), IP address, device & OS information, ad interactions, and approximate location derived from your IP address. To serve, render, frequency-cap, and measure interstitial and rewarded ("continue") ads, and to detect invalid/fraudulent activity.
Firebase Analytics (Google) A randomly generated app-instance ID, device & OS information, approximate (IP-based) location, and gameplay events — namely game_start, game_over (with your score and best score), and continue_used. To understand aggregate, anonymous usage so we can improve the game.
Firebase Crashlytics (Google) Crash logs and stack traces, device state at the time of a crash, app version, operating system, and a Crashlytics installation identifier (UUID). To diagnose crashes and improve stability.
Google Play (install referrer) Install attribution information provided by the Google Play Store. To understand how the App is discovered and to measure ad campaigns.

To deliver the above, the App requests internet access and uses an advertising identifier; on newer Android versions it also uses Google's Privacy Sandbox advertising features.

2. Data kept only on your device

The following are stored locally on your device (Android PlayerPrefs) and are not transmitted to us or to anyone else. They are removed when you uninstall the App:

3. How we use information

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we (and Google) rely on:

5. Advertising & your choices

Stacks is supported by ads delivered through Google AdMob. Depending on your consent and region, ads may be personalized (based on data such as your advertising ID) or non-personalized (based only on coarse context such as the current app).

You can control ad tracking on your device:

In the EEA, UK, and Switzerland, the App uses Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) consent flow to ask for your choices before requesting any personalized ads. Your selection is remembered on your device. You can change your mind at any time by resetting your advertising ID in your device settings (which clears the stored consent) or by managing your choices through Google's ad settings linked above.

7. Third-party services

The App relies on the following Google services, each governed by Google's own privacy terms:

8. How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. Data is processed by the Google services listed above acting as our service providers (and, for advertising, in some cases as independent controllers) so they can deliver ads, analytics, and crash reporting on our behalf. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

9. Data retention

Locally stored data (your high score and settings) remains until you clear the App's data or uninstall it. Data collected by Google is retained according to Google's policies and your account settings; analytics and advertising identifiers are typically retained for a limited period and may be reset by you at any time.

10. International transfers

Google processes data on servers that may be located outside your country, including the United States. Where data is transferred out of the EEA/UK, Google relies on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

11. Children's privacy

Stacks is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to address it.

12. Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR or the CCPA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, to object to processing, to data portability, and to withdraw consent. Because Stacks has no accounts, the most direct controls are resetting/deleting your advertising ID and uninstalling the App. To make a request relating to data we control, contact us using the details below; you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

13. Security

We rely on Google's infrastructure and industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and post the new version at this URL. Significant changes may also be noted in the App's store listing.
